JULIUS VOM HOFE #4 MIDGE 1/2HANDLE FLY/TROUT REEL HR/GS! $589.00 10152 Early model 1880's Julius Vom Hofe #4 Midge Trout Reel with Hard Rubber/GS side plates with 2 1/8" diameters. This is a half/handle model with the typical center drilled hole in the reel foot. Next to the hole is stamped "4". This is a single action trout reel with built in click which is still strong! A few surface scratches on the hard rubber but no cracks. This is a tough reel to find. Nice addition to any collection. 2" DIA. #40 1/2 HANDLE HR/NOP SINGLE ACTION TROUT REEL $129.00 14852 Tiny 2" #40 vintage Single Action Trout Reel, c.1900. It has all hard rubber side plates, full length reel foot, 1/2 handle, and built in click which is soft. No cracks or chips but normal surface marks that could probably be polished out easily. We leave this to the discretion of the buyer. "40" is stamped on the bottom of the reel foot which denotes the line capacity, otherwise unmarked. ENGLISH 2 3/8" KNOTTINGHAM WOOD REEL! $98.00 12189 1890's English Knottingham fishing reel made of walnut with ebony handle knob, brass knurled nut for spool release, and metal foot and spine. This is a tiny 2 3/8" diameter reel. It is the smallest Knottingham style reel we have ever had! There is some line on the spool but not fully loaded. H&I "VERNLEY TROUT REEL" 3" FLY REEL IN BOX! $69.00 14137 Vintage 1930's Fly Fishing Reel in its original box! It is the "Vernley Trout Reel" by Horrocks & Ibbotson of Utica, N.Y. It is a Bakelite lightweight 80 yd. capacity fly reel. It has a 3" diameter. t was found in its box loaded with fly line. It is in excellent overall condition. The box is scarcer then the reel! TRANSITION MODEL 1492 PFLUEGER MEDALIST FLY REEL C.1941 $89.00 15258 Nice example of a "transitional" model Pflueger Medalist Fly Reel c.1940-41. It is considered transitional model because it was created using the left over Sculptured Pillar frames but utilized the new rectangular line guide and the new spool design with full drum arbor and plastic spool release instead of the previous metal style. This reel features the new spool as it was introduced in the 1940-41 era but with the original sculptured pillar frame. It is the smallest size Medalist that Pflueger made at 3" diameter and one of the most desirable of the Medalist sizes. It is in overall excellent condition with a strong click mechanism. VINTAGE "FOLSOM N.Y." 250 YD BRASS FREE/SPL. FISHING REEL! $59.00 14255 Nice 1900's Brass Fishing Reel for Lake or Salt Water fishing in brass. It is marked "Folsom N.Y." on the sideplate. It is also marked "250" on the reel foot which denotes the line capacity. It has a very strong click with the adjustment on the rear sideplate. It also has a smooth free spool mode. The lever mounted on the front sideplate puts it in and out of "free spool". It has a nice counterbalanced handle with ebony wood knob. There is a primitive leather thumb drag mounted on a pillar for manual line drag adjustment too. This reel would polish up spectacularly! We leave cleaning and polishing to discretion of buyer. SHAKESPEARE "IDEAL NO.1963" LW/JEWELED BAITCASTER REEL $39.00 15270 Vintage bait casting fishing reel by the Shakespeare Tackle Co.. It is their model "Ideal no.1963", Model 31, and has jeweled end caps, level wind mechanism, rim mounted drag adjustment, marbleized spacer rim, and double marbleized handle knobs! It is marked on the handle sideplate above the end cap "Julius Vom Hofe, Pat. Nov.17,85, Brooklyn,N.Y." There is finish wear with brass showing thru on all metal surfaces. The "Sea-Vue" #2048 is somewhat unique having a large "Mechanical Thumber" drag adjustment on the rear side plate with an "on/off" position. This reel also has a "S" shaped counter balanced handle with a "torpedo" knob, star drag adjustment, free spool lever, and click adjustment.
