Antique, Collectible Fly Fishing Reels

Hardy Bros. Ltd. made in England 2 1/2" "Flyweight" fly reel with Hardy made leathered zippered reel pouch and box. It is in excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically showing only a couple of super tiny rubs. Full foot uncut, two screw spool release w/lever, black ebonite handle grasp, and single screw line guard. This reel is right hand retrieve and currently loaded with backing only. Hardy Bros.of England "The Golden Prince" 8/9 Fly Fishing Reel with 3 3/8" diameter. It is in basically unused condition! No flaws, no finish loss. Mechanically & cosmetically excellent. Has a two screw/lever spool release, a single screw line guard, an ebonite handle grasp, and full reel foot. Set currently for left hand retrieve. Unused mint with papers from Hardy Bros. Ltd. is this "Cascapedia" MK II Fly Reel for 2,3,4 Wt. line. This reel has never had line on it! No damage! Balances well on 7' to 8'-6" rods. Perforated face plate and handle to lighten this wonferful Trout Fly Reel. Drag adjustment on rear side plate. Classic "S" handle. Great reel by a great manufacture! Right or left hand retrieve currently set for LHR howerver converts easily with directions included. Serial number on side of reel foot E86635. Hardy Uniqua wide drum reel, diameter 4". RHW. MKII check. It's in excellent shape, both cosmetically and mechanically. The reel has a few line grooves on one pillar. The original ebonite handle spins freely as it should. Single action reel with no tension adjustment (the rim regulator was an option). Gear teeth and pawls are in great shape with very sharp points. Frame has coin like edges. Reel weighs 12.4 oz. Original ribbed brass reel foot (straight and full-length). Spool width is 1 3/16". No wobble or end play . Telephone latch functions as it should. No signs of repair whatsoever on this reel. Bench stamped inside frame "TW" for Thomas Wilkinson. Hard to find in this condition! Loaded only with existing backing on the reel. Great condition Hardy Bros., of England "Marquis" No. 3 Salmon Fly Reel both mechanically and cosmetically! This is a 4 1/8" diameter wide spool reel. It can be set for right or left hand retrieve (currently backing set for LH). It has a rear side plate drag adjustor, an ebonite handle grasp, a two screw spool release with lever and a full (not cut or filed) ribbed brass reel foot. Does not appear to have any major finish loss (very minor rubs in a couple of places like on one of rims. It is loaded with backing material only. Comes with an Hardy Bros. zipper reel pouch. This is a scarce Steelhead/Salmon Fly Reel made by John Shaw in the 1960's. Its' side plates measure 3 7/8" and the width of the spool is approximately 1". It has an unique drag system having an external lever that allows transition from a full stop to normal drag operation and then to free spool if needed. Click is strong and it sounds in either direction. The click sound has the option of being put into a silent mode by moving the unusual shape switch on the back side plate located to left of the "Rogue" name (again this only can be made silent on outbound line, inbound always has the click on). This particular fly reel is set up for left hand retrieve. Previously owned but in excellent condition mechanically and having minor finish rubs at the rims. Tough reel! Ross Reels "Flywater No.4" fly fishing reel with a spare spool! Both appear new/unused in their original box's (reel has a neoprene Ross pouch). This model was designed to carry line weights of 6, 7, or 8. This reel is in their Black aluminum electrostatically coated finish. It is 3 3/4" in diameter and can be used as a right or left hand retrieve reel Has a quick release locking spool and a self lubricating drag system that is virtually maintenance free! This is a Sage Fly Reel in excellent working condition and made by Hardy Bros. of England. It is Model 506 in Bronze finish. It has an ebony handle knob, two screw spool release, drag adjustment mounted on the rim, and a full uncut or filed reel foot! It was found with backing loaded on it. It has been fished showing minor rim rubs in a few spots but nothing that diminishes the collectable value or mechanical excellence of the reel. Has serial number of 2304 on reel foot side. This is a Sage Fly Reel in excellent working condition and made by Hardy Bros. of England. It is Model 509 in Bronze finish. It has an ebony handle knob, two screw spool release, drag adjustment mounted on the rim, and a full uncut or filed reel foot! It is an estate acqusition showing very nicely with just a few minor rim rubs in a few spots but nothing that diminishes the collectable value or mechanical excellence of the reel. Has serial number of 0561 on reel foot side. This 509 was the largest size fly reel in the 500 series that Hardy made for Sage and has a diameter of 3 7/8". It has a single screw line guide which can be reversed depending on the chosen hand retrieve (left or right) currently right hand retrieve. It can handle 7,8,9, and 10 wt. rated fly line. I can provide backing and fly line capacities if desired as well as factory directions on how to change the hand retrieval. It comes with a soft reel pouch.
