Hardy Neroda Fly Box

Hardy Bros. Neroda Oxblood Bakelite Fly Box with Vintage Trout Flies

Vintage Hardy Brothers “Neroda” pocket fly box, made in England and dating from approximately the 1930s–1950s. The rounded rectangular case measures approximately 3⅞ inches by 2½ inches and is molded in dark oxblood-colored Bakelite, with subtle reddish mottling visible beneath the dark polished surface. Both exterior panels bear the circular molded mark “Hardy Bros. Makers England.” The box retains its brass hinge and original cream-colored wool or chenille-lined interior, arranged in raised rows to hold flies securely without crushing their hackles. Included is an assortment of approximately 30 vintage trout flies, primarily traditional wet-fly patterns, with both single- and double-hook examples. The flies feature a variety of feather wings, hackles and colored bodies and are offered as found. The Bakelite case displays light surface scratches, rubbing, and other signs of normal use. The interior lining shows age-related discoloration, staining, and wear, while the flies vary in condition. The hinge appears sound, and the molded Hardy markings remain distinct. Please examine the photographs carefully for condition. There are NO cracks, chips, or any major scratches! A particularly appealing early Hardy Neroda box retaining its original fitted interior and an interesting selection of vintage hand-tied trout flies.
