EDWARD VOM HOFE DRY FLY OILER/WATCH ATOMIZER AS SHOWN IN 1936 CATALOGUE
Edward Vom Hofe Dry fly oiler. This item was made of polished hard rubber and sold by the Vom Hofe Tackle Co. for spraying oil on dry flies (liquid mucilin). It is illustrated in their 1936 catalogue on Page 166. This item was first created as a "Watch Atomizer" and adapted by Vom Hofe as a Dry Fly Oiler. It is 2 3/8" in diameter and 1/2" thick. "American Hard Rubber Co. New York" is labeled on one side and the other side "Watch Case Atomizer Made in USA". First patented in 1890's by the American Hard Rubber Co.. EARLY 1930'S ALL COPPER BAIT TIN....SCARCE!
This is a solid copper c. 1930's Bait Tin. It is difficult to find these made in all copper! This style was generally worn on the waist. Hinged lid at top rear and perforated in the lid center.
